Skirts for Moi

I have finally made something for me. I've been talking about it for months but needed to start losing weight before I wanted to even attempt to make anything.

I've lost 8kg's since the end of Jan 2010 since I started to put in a real effort. It could probably have been better but there was a wedding, birthday's and my fathers illness that have tested the good eating plan.

So I got this book out of the library, was really nervous but since I desperately need new clothes and since we are living on one wage so don't have means to go out and just buy whatever I fancy anymore, I had to give it ago.

I was actually quite surprised at just how easy it was. I made up my pattern and got cracking.

Here is the end result.

First skirt and Cara (she was fascinated with me using the timer on the camera)

Second skirt made last night, took all of 45 mins, insane :)

I am really happy with them, not so happy with the photo's of me but I do have another 28kg's to loose, scary stuff, but I am getting there.

I am going to order a copy of this book for myself. I totally love it and there are a number of variations that I would like to make. I recommend everyone gets themselves a copy of this book, you will never need to buy a skirt pattern again :)

Look out wardrobe, you are going to be chocker full with fabulous skirts :)

xx

Well done to you on the weight loss and the great skirts.
I was given a gift voucher for Amazon for my birthday and bought that book and while I am yet to try making a skirt using it, I love it and can't wait!

Hey I love these skirts. i have the same book out of the library at the moment but havn't made anything yet. I reckon I will buy it-looks like a book you'd always be going back to. Which pattern/idea did you use to make these two?
