There are so many books etc with recipes in that it is hard to know which one to get. That is until today. I got my weekly email from NZ Gardener (which is fabulous) and they had a review on a new book called "A Home Companion" by Wendyl Nissen. While I haven't actually seen the book, it sounds like it is exactly what I am looking for.

I honestly believe more and more families should just get back to basics, life just seems so much easier, healthier and, well cheaper.

YES!!!! I had this beauty in my hands yesterday, the cover is delicious!
I had never heard of it before and I reluctantly put it back on the shelf and have spent the better part of today trying to remember the title to look up on line! funny! I was even going to post about how much I want it.
It's on sale at the Warehouse FYI ;)
Ditto! I've just been reading about this book in the Womans Weekly - living the way my Nana lived :) I WANT it!
It looks like a great book. If you get a copy I'd love to know how helpful you find it.
Can I just say (as someone growing as much food as possible, including meat) that its a LOT of hard work. It may be cheaper, but you do have to have plenty of time. DH has been working a lot of hours and things here are getting very behind due to lack of time and manpower. There's too much work just for me.
