I did it :)

I actually made something for myself, nothing big, but crikey it feels so good.

I made myself a gardening hat, and totally love it. It's a perfect fit too :)

I managed to make a few errors along the way, but it is the first time I have made anything like this. Some of the pattern pieces didn't fit, so I went totally wrong somewhere while cutting out, but was able to tweak things to make them fit.

Other sewing for this weekend included a present for a good friend of mine who had a wee babe last week. He was a couple of weeks early, so I'm a little late in getting this present to them, but that's OK, I'm sure he will love it all the same.

I'm also working on a new Needle Case Design, nearly there, but I feel like I've been having a love affair with my quick unpick hehe

Toodles for now

Christmas Presents

For Christmas 08 I decided to make all of my Christmas presents, well all three of them anyway. Thankfully our family decided to draw names this year, so we didn't need to buy for everyone.

I made my nieces Beach Bags. I adapted the Tiny Happy bag which I made previously, and made giant Beach Bags. I was pretty pleased with how they turned out and so were they.

I also made for Gwen and knitting needle roll. I love it, really wanted to keep it for myself, but couldn't be naffed making another one :)

This weekend I made a shoulder bag using this pattern, although I did change the size a wee bit, as this pattern turns out quite small. I'm pretty pleased with it as it's only the 2nd bag I've ever made :)

Don't know why the pic has rotated when I uploaded it. Will sort this out later.

I can see myself making a heap more of these. I've already made up another pattern, heaps bigger, with more pockets etc to use as a nappy bag as I hate the traditional style of nappy bags :)

Coffee Group Christmas Party

Last Sunday we had our first Coffee Group Christmas Party. One of our families live on a 10 acre block set in some really nice country side, best thing is that it's only a 10 min drive from our house. Their lawn by their house is huge so we took up a couple of gazebo's and huge mats to set up. It was so hot that we were so pleased we did this, all the wee ones ended up under them.

Cara was fantastic, but wouldn't sleep, there was just too much going on. Poor wee mite was awake for six hours. We lost track of time and certainly didn't mean to keep her up for that long.

The kiddies did their first Secret Santa. I made my present for a wee boy in our group.

Here it is
